Solana Saga phone stands as the first-ever web3 phone, revolutionizing the way we interact with blockchain. We have had the privilege of collaborating closely with the Saga team in the early days.
Our work at Saga mainly focused on Storefront, Saga Pass, and Saga Android Widgets.
Saga is based on Android system. Our first task was to create widgets that feel native to Android. We explored widget ideas around NFTs, tickers, portfolio, DeFi, and DAOs. The goal was to make them accessible and easy to use. It was challenging yet fun!
Display NFTs:
Android allows for a variety of configurations that could be used to show users the NFTs in their wallets.
Track popular or trending NFT collections:
A user could choose which collections to follow, follow a curated list, or watch for specific parameters.
Sell NFTs in person:
A user could also sell an NFT directly from the home screen, by generating a payment code.
Users love to monitor specific tokens. Because your phone is with you wherever you go, we’ve love to see real time data more easily accessible. Data widgets on the home screen could be a great fit.
Portfolio should show how me how my investment is doing. This differs from market data in that it should show me how my specific investment is performing. This could be anchored to an initial fiat investment to see movement over time, or could represent something like perpetuals, which are much more tied to time based actions or real time data.
Let’s allow access to quick DeFi actions. This may be as simple as a swap interface, or a quick trade. But think about something a user may want to reference quickly and take a quick action on.
Saga Pass is a limited-release NFT that you could mint with a Saga Phone pre-order. These passes only mint during special mint windows.
Saga Pass comes with exclusive benefits. When Saga is ready to begin shipping, pre-orderers with Saga Pass will get priority checkout and delivery.
We made the landing page for Saga Pass.
We also shipped Saga mobile storefront. A shopping experience where people can pay for Solana Mobile with USDC.
Web3 checkout experience is different and there were some constraints. It takes some time for the checkout session to load. So we came up with some onboarding-like flow so that users don’t get bored while waiting.
There were handful of constraints we needed to address while mapping out the flow.
